Phase One Works was appointed to deliver the design and build contract in Luton for a new community development at Wigmore Valley Park on behalf of Luton Rising. The project forms part of a wider initiative aimed at creating high quality public spaces that support the wellbeing and development of the local community.
The scheme includes the construction of a contemporary skate park designed with advanced surface water drainage and attenuation systems, alongside a new themed playground incorporating more than 2,850m² of below ground attenuation, French drains, resin finishes and specialist play equipment. Additional works include new hardstanding areas, toilet and catering facilities, CCTV infrastructure and new utility connections.
Extensive landscaping works will also be delivered, including permeable pathways, ornamental planting and the creation of a new route connecting to the peace garden dedicated to those lost during the Covid pandemic. Delivered as a full design and build contractor package, Phase One Works is managing design development, value engineering and construction, while self delivering all groundworks as Principal Contractor. Completion is scheduled for Spring 2026.
